The Paleo Diet was first introduced to me by my Bad-A BF Cassie ~ at which time I was not sure what I thought about it. However, the more research I do on my own, the more I love the idea of the Paleo Diet, and I am starting to believe that it truly makes perfect sense —
Please know that I am in no way an expert on this Caveman topic, but I am trying to learn more each day.
The Paleo plan, as I am understanding it, looks something like this –>
I have not gone Paleo, but I am definitely in the “considering” phases. I love the idea of this diet and think it makes complete sense that it is difficult for my body to digest dairy, grains, and processed foods. The idea of “food” has changed so much over the years and I think a majority of the change revolves around making money, rather than improving health.
I cannot even decide if it is more difficult for me to eliminate dairy or grains, as I love both of them. I have definitely scaled way back on both of these groups and have focused on putting only natural foods in my body – including meat, veggies, and fruits.
Here are some of the foods I purchased this weekend – The bananas are Ben’s and I usually try to stay away from this high-sugar fruit…
I am not sure that my Turkey Jerky fits the Paleo Diet regimen, but I still love it and I think it is quite a healthy snack option.
From what I have learned, berries are the best fruit for you. Unfortunately, apples and bananas are both considered high-sugar fruits. I try to enjoy my apples in the AM and stay away from the bananas.
Focus Food #4: Berries – from The Happiness Diet ~
“When it comes to protecting your brain, think deep reds and purples. Raspberries, blueberries, Concord grapes, plums, eggplants, and red cabbage get their color from a set of compounds called anthocyanins that protect the neurons at the center of our brains responsible for feeling and memory.”
Sunday – Subway chopped grilled chicken salad —
Monday Lunch ~ Greenberry Shake, per usual —
I have not even considered how my Shakeology fits into the Paleo Plan, as there is no way I will get rid of it, ever. I love, love, love this Shake and I am very aware of just how healthy it is and how much it benefits my mind and body. Love Shakeology (!!!)
More Shake info on –> Shakeology
Monday Dinner ~ Italian beef and green beans —
As I said, I am still taking in all of this Paleo information I am learning. I have definitely changed my diet to be more like the Paleo diet, but also know that I’m not quite there yet, as I’m still trying to decide if it will work for me, my lifestyle, and who I am.
I do love that my body feels clean inside! <—Weird (?)
Challenge ~ Alternate between working my abs / bum every single day. Even if I do not do a full workout, I will do one of these two. This evening I am going to work my abs on the Bosu during The Bachelor (!!!)
Look what Lilly did with her Baby Chicky –>
Monday is almost over! Have an awesome week!
