We decided to cut the cake before brunch because we really could not wait any longer. I know I would not have enjoyed my brunch had we waited.
It was such an exciting moment in my life and I am so happy we decided to reveal with an intimate family party. I was a bit sad after the day was over, as I had anxiously awaited that moment for quite a while. It was such a special moment for Ben and I, and we are thankful that our families were able to share it with us.
Our brunch included Subway (!!) —
Of course, I did some “baking” and made my usual pretzel treats (!!) for everyone to enjoy. Everything was delicious, especially that special baby cake.
There are a few reasons why we have decided to wait to share our special news with friends and family via a gender reveal baby shower.
One of our (or my?) main reasons is that I would like to see everyone when I share this very special news. It was an amazing feeling to see the expression of our family members when the gender of Baby Titus was revealed yesterday. We were all together and the room was filled with happiness, excitement, and emotion.
I would like to be there to tell friends and family in person, if possible, so that I am able to see reactions and celebrate with everyone. And, lucky for me, this is perfectly possible at a gender reveal shower (!!) It makes me excited when I imagine sharing this news in a special way at my shower. I just want to be there with everyone when we share.
Another reason we (Ben agrees with this one 100%) love the idea of waiting to share, is to be sure to receive gender neutral items. This thought never crossed my mind until a few friends shared the advice with me, and I think it makes perfect sense. If it is in our future to have another Baby Titus along the way, we would like to be able to re-use all baby items, even if the gender is different the second time around.
Did you have a gender reveal shower? How long did you wait before letting everyone know baby gender?
Enjoy the day!
Love, ~Ann and Baby Titus
