I am really trying to stay super-on-top-of school things.  We only have a week and a half left! 

I have a couple updates for you guys:

First of all: No carbs = No way

I do not know how I ever survived this no-carb craziness before ~ but not now, not this girl.  I made it through 5 days, Monday thru Friday.  I actually felt great and had loads of energy – too much actually, I could not even sleep!! 

Too many of the healthy foods I love to eat include carbs ~ I can’t let them go.  Even though they were only gone for five days, I am so happy to have them back in my life…

Second of all:  Weekend eats = HORRRRIBLE!

I am sure this had a lot to do with the no carb / no sugar.  I missed them so much that I waaayyy overindulged in such treats as cookies, chocolate, PB, cookies, cookies, cookies.  I went home to southern Indiana ~ where there are cookies galore just waiting to be eaten up!!

I took Cookie Friday waaayyy too far!!  I was a total Cookie Monster on that night.

I paid for it with my stomach ache earthquakes ~ As KT and I called them…

I am back on track and have had a great workouts the past few days.

Update #3:  I currently love strength training

My arms are so sore!

Today I had to ask one of my students to fix the back of my collar because it hurt my arms to reach back there!

Enough said!

Today’s workout:

  • 4.5 crazy-sweaty-hilly run on the tread
  • 25 minutes arms / lunges

My run was amazing thanks to new tunes on the Pod!! 

It is crazy what music can do.  I got so pumped up during one of my new songs!! I ended up getting a little too carried away  I think ~ upped the incline to 8.5 and increased speed to 8.5 –> I did okay for a bit, but when I tried to look at my Garmin, I almost fell off the tread. 

No more of the 8.5 + 8.5 stuff…

What is the song, you ask  (???) ~ Miley Cyrus: See You Again.


Yes. Really.

Another great song to sprint to – Mr. Brightside.  There is no possible way to run slowly to this song!!

One more thing I am loving about my workouts:

I have been using the 8 pounder or the 6 pounder.  Holding the ball in front of you with both hands, form letters of the alphabet.  Draw the letters big enough that you have to squat for each letter.  Does that make sense?

Does anyone else ever do this arm workout?  I did it three times tonight ~ doing other free weight (8 and 10 lbs) in between the sets.  I incorporated lunges into my free weight arm exercises to work some leg mascles as well…
