Hey Blog Friends ~ I have missed you, once again!! :(
I am super excited right now because look what just arrived in the mail:
Yes, that is Lilly checking out the package, too! My INSANITY workouts arrived today! Thanks Beachbody for getting them here so quickly!! And the weighted hand gloves I mentioned in a previous post also arrived. I am so pumped to try these out. Even though I hit the gym after school today, I may try to squeeze one of these babies in before bedtime. Ben said he might even join me because these are supposed to be super tough workouts ~ even tough enough for Ben!
There are ten INSANITY DVDs total. Wow, just looking at these pics makes me ready for a second workout this evening! I really felt like I needed something new to add to my workout routine. KT and I decided this would be a great addition. I will still do Turbo Jam of course – but this will be a nice change for awhile. I am most excited for the Cardio Abs DVD.
I decided I would post my gym workout today. Just because I love seeing the workouts of others. Perhaps you would love to see mine?
Today I started with a warm up on the elliptical. Well, actually it did not start as a warm up. It started as 25 minute gluteal workout. But as I worked on the elliptical, I stared at and longed for the treadmills in front of me. In my head I decided I would only do ten minutes of the workout. I could not take it, not even for ten minutes, the treadmills were just calling my name. I finally decided I would just do a five minute warm-up on the elliptical.
Elliptical warm up: 5 minutes (resistance 7 / speed 12.2)
Yay ~ Treadmill time!! :)
Note: I always watch the distance on the treadmill, rather than the time.
Treadmill: 4.25 miles / ~45 minutes (incline 2.5)
- 0.90-1.00: 8.0
Basically, that is my routine mile. Tonight I continued the routine for 3 more miles plus a small cool-down. I know it is not good for my bod, but I am rather impatient when it comes to warm-ups and cool-downs.
To finish up my workout, I headed to the machines (which often intimidate me).
Hip Aduction (or thigh machine, as I rather call them)
- Inner thigh: 5 sets of 10 reps @ 115 lbs.
- Outer thigh: 5 sets of 10 reps @ 115 lbs.
No arms or strength training for me today – once again. I really need to work on this part of my workout, guys. Any tips as far as strength training? Any words of wisdom to pump me up about strength training?
Before I go, two more things I want you guys to check out:
My New Nathan
Lillian’s New Sweater
Both of these things make me happy. And I honestly have not been very happy lately. I have actually been a real Debbie Downer – getting mad at myself for ridiculous reasons. More about this later, as I am currently in a pretty good mood do not want to ruin that. I am off to have dessert ~ a new variation. I will share soon!
Perhaps getting INSANE soon?
Goodnight Bloggies :) Tomorrow is Thursday!
